Lying about Education – Never do it!

“You should never LIE about your degree or education. Many fluff there experience/projects but education is very black/white. Yes some folks might get away with it but if your ever caught there could be several serve consequences (reputation, job, etc…). Plus education is one of the easiest things to verify with a background check or slight research.

Today there was a large trending post here about a frustrated fella with a CS masters and Software Development bachelors unable to find work ranting. A few users soon pointed out some discrepancies with his statements, past posts/comments and resume. He later was forced to admit he had lied about his education. Not only was his masters not CS but “IT” allegedly, it wasn’t even an actual IT degree (but a ‘Master of Professional Studies’ with specialization in IT) since his school doesn’t have an IT or CS Masters. Furthermore he had purposely mislabeled his bachelors degree as his school also doesn’t have a “Bachelors in Software Development” either lol.”
