This position requires travel 75% of the time to industry conferences, target locations, and dinner meetings across the United States. The position is open to remote candidates who actively reside in the following states: AL, FL, GA, KY, IN, TN, SC.

About the Business Development Associate
Upperline Health is seeking a Business Development Associate who will support growth initiatives. As an integral part of the team, you’ll be responsible for working with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) and supporting the sales process, managing relationships, keeping the team organized and handling administrative tasks (drafting/editing LOIs, updating the CRM, etc.). The Business Development Associate continually builds and enhances relationships and manages the cadence of communication each step of the way in the deal making process.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute the Business Development strategy and process.
  • Maintain an active pipeline with multiple deals in progress over various timelines.
  • Provide general transaction and administrative support.
  • Aid in planning and directing administrative and operational activities for the CDO when needed.
  • Perform market research to support strategic initiatives.
  • Support the transaction process, from the first conversation with a target through the letter of intent and a closed deal.
  • Manage Business Development Coordinator(s) who are responsible for initial cold calling, basic research and populating template documents with basic information
    • Coach the cold calling process through multiple daily touch points
    • Convince warm leads to take a meeting with the CDO
  • Support daily needs of the team, including proactively initiating and responding to meeting requests, emails and other forms of communication, organizing and coordinating meetings, etc.
  • Track the progress made on deals and summarize into work products catering to different internal audiences.
  • Manage targets through a formal funnel and pipeline management process.
  • Travel 75% of the time to industry conferences, target locations, and dinner meetings across the United States.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • 4+ years of experience across high volume selling process. Examples include business development, corporate development, new market expansion, relationship establishment and management, etc.
  • Podiatry experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail as well as an ability to tackle ambiguous situations
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey recommendations and conclusions. Experience presenting thoughtful and compelling points of view directly to targets and CDO.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and balance multiple deliverables with competing timelines in a dynamic environment
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with exceptional follow-through and the ability to work well independently with minor supervision.
  • You are humble and hungry; no task is too small or beneath you, and you will bring a just-get-it-done mindset to work every day.
  • Operate effectively with a high degree of autonomy
  • Poised and collaborative across all levels of th organization
