The Cap-Tech Perf Mgmt Analyst is responsible for supporting the implementation, ongoing maintenance and configuration of IT Service monitoring tools.  Additionally, this position will address the needs of proactive monitoring and incident avoidance, as well as trending, predictive and contractually required SLAs/KPIs.  The Analyst will apply monitoring tool service packs, implement upgrades, and work closely with Helpdesk and Desktop Services and Technical Command Center to help educate internal customers and increase their understanding of monitoring tool data.  This position focuses on maintaining our information systems to deliver valuable services to our customers and enabling us to successfully execute on contracts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement and configure infrastructure and application monitoring tools
  • Troubleshoot and proactively identify monitoring solutions and drive resolution of complex system/process problems and issues
  • Implement monitoring enhancements and maintenance to keep up with ever changing systems, new contracts and user requirements
  • Provide status reports to IT Systems Monitoring Consultant
  • Create monitoring tool education and documentation for end users of monitoring tools and internal Enterprise Monitoring Solutions processes and procedures
  • Provide monitoring tool demonstrations to end users and service level owners
  • Implement/configure monitoring tools to include Vital Business Functions, thresholds for automated incident creation, automated alerts and notifications based on customer requirements
  • Open support cases with monitoring tool vendors and work toward resolution for technical issues
  • Create synthetic monitoring scripts to provide application KPI availability metrics for customers
  • Complete assigned work requests for the Enterprise Monitoring Solutions work intake queue
  • All other duties as assigned

Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in each of the following areas:
    • Understanding of infrastructure and application monitoring tools
    • Infrastructure, or desktop technology or helpdesk or systems support experience
    • Experience configuring monitoring tools to meet customer/business needs
    • Experience working in Cloud and/or Hybrid environments
  • Experience creating reports from monitoring tools to meet customer/business needs
  • 2+ years of ITIL or ITSM related framework or discipline experience including DevOps/Agile practices
  • Proven understanding of business operations and their related dependencies on IT systems
  • Proven understanding of end to end system dependencies (Infrastructure, System, Data, Telecom, Desktop, Mobile) to organize monitoring tool configurations
  • Proven understanding of the technical fundamentals of software development and understanding of possible impacts of changes within complicated IT systems
  • Ability to participate in large implementation efforts at an organizational level
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability or determination of eligibility for a confidential/secret or top secret security clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or other related field
  • National Career Readiness certificate
  • DOD/VA/Military clearances
  • Experience with monitoring, instrumenting IT Systems, IT event management, alerting
  • Confident communication skills including the ability to present, demonstrate, and explain monitoring tool metrics/data
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Software Suite skills
  • Experience creating systems/performance dashboards
  • DOD/VA/Military experience

As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group’s contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense eQuip Form SF86, (the National Agency Check Legal and Credit or NACLC). Successful completion of the NACLC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NACLC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received. Failure to obtain final NACLC approval will result in termination from this role.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
