About the Role
As the People Operations Coordinator at Subsplash you will report to the Director of People Operations and are focused on ensuring that HR operations run smoothly and effectively. You will look for opportunities to deliver delight across the entire organization and drive for our core values of humility, innovation, and excellence. As a People Operations Coordinator you develop a detailed understanding of employment laws and regulations to ensure the company is well protected in the ever changing workplace landscape.
You will play an important role in keeping all People programs on track. The People Operations Coordinator will have context on HR programs and will execute on administrative and operational duties, while playing a role as an active partner in these programs. You will propose new solutions and collaborate with program leads to scale people programs.
Your Priorities
Ensure HR Personnel files are maintained and payroll database is updated accordingly, including setup of new employees and changes in payroll terms
Support the People Operations team with HRIS management by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, tracking vacation, sick, and personal time
Assist in management of employee documents and keep templates up to date in accordance with company policy and legal obligations
Answer unemployment claims and verifications of employment
Have thorough knowledge of our policies as well as employee handbooks for explaining company operations as primary main point of contact
Work with Director of People Operations when employee relations issues arise
Respond timely to routine HR questions and/or redirect employees to appropriate contacts as needed
Participate in and support key HR initiatives, including performance management, compensation planning, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Provide assistance to the People Operations team with miscellaneous support and tasks
Qualifications
Strong customer service mindset to support our amazing remote team
Exceptional attention to detail, creative problem solver and a highly organized task master
Willingness to pitch in wherever help is needed across the people team
Experience working with multiple systems with ease and ability to learn new systems with ease
A collaborative and flexible style, with a passion for change and continuous improvement
Experience in high growth startup environment
0-2 years of HR experience- if you do not have prior HR experience, experience in the social sciences or in operations/project management roles is required
Flexibility, strong work ethic, and a strong desire to get things done
Strong customer service skills and a warm and welcoming demeanor
Grace under pressure, a can-do attitude, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
Strong calendaring skills

Compensation
The overall compensation for this role is between $52,000 – 60,000/yr.
Location
Subsplash currently has operations in 22 states across the US! As much as we would love to have employees in as many states and countries as we have clients, we are currently limiting hiring to the states we already operate in. As a result of that, this role is only available as a 100% remote position if you reside in one of the following states:
AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IA, KS, MO, MI, NC, NM, OK, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA.

This position is classified as Full-time/non-exempt and therefore eligible for overtime pay. Core office hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Mon-Fri. Note: Employment with Subsplash is contingent upon satisfactory proof of employee’s right to work in the U.S., as required by law and upon completion of a basic background check and; Employment with Subsplash is considered “at will,” meaning that either the company or the employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time without cause or notice.
