Tax Analyst – RemoteJob Description

The Tax Analyst Remote is responsible for supporting tax compliance and related activities across Prime. This includes ensuring that all sales and use taxes returns are properly calculated for all jurisdictions in which Prime has nexus, as well as the timely preparation and filing of state and local sales, use tax and personal property returns.

Responsibilities

Prepare sales tax return and gross receipts tax return preparation, including verifying correct rates, ensuring Prime is charging for sales tax where required and paying in the appropriate states at the appropriate rate
Gather information needed for income tax returns

Support sales tax audits, including gathering audit requests, managing auditor findings, and closing the audit
Assist with the preparation and filing of tax refunds
Prepare annual personal property tax returns
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
2 years of work experience in tax
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong team player that has a customer service approach
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to meet established deadlines
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals (CMI) in Taxation
Prior experience with sales and use tax audits, corporate income tax returns and tax provisions

Minimum Physical Job Requirements

Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure

Reports to a Director in the Finance department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $62,100.00 – $93,300.00 based on location, experience and skills.
