We are seeking a technology leader to build and lead a new product that will disrupt the back office Revenue Cycle Business. As a technical leader, you are a pragmatic visionary who can understand and translate customer and business needs into workable technology solutions that scale both technically and operationally. You will build a multidisciplinary group of engineers engaged in a fast-paced mission to deliver these goals.


Primary responsibilities of the role include working with stakeholders and Engineers to develop a product roadmap, leading the development and timely delivery of product features in a cloud native infrastructure as outlined in the roadmap, building and leading bar raising software engineers, strategizing the thriftiest path through solid architecture and design principles. Product development scope for the role includes core system application design and companion services. The role requires delivery of a complex product at a very high-quality bar in a fast paced environment.

This role requires working closely with product management and design to define strategy and requirements, and leading development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. This position involves regular communication with senior management on technical development, product strategy, status, and risks. Excellent listening, writing skills and very strong technical competency are essential.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Build and grow multiple world class teams that are raising the bar

Work with product, technology leaders, and engineers to develop high-performing, cloud-native software architectures. Dive deep to leverage existing services to build an enterprise platform that works seamlessly across various functions.


Own systems, their design, and provide guidance through the implementation of the solutions.

Collaborate across Change Healthcare and UnitedHealth Group teams, their partners, and occasionally directly with the customers to understand the challenges and device solutions.

Provide hands-on engineering guidance including architectural patterns, software design and development as well as recommended use of enterprise technologies and services.

Establish engineering disciplines for highly scalable real time systems with very heavy transaction volume


High Ownership and customer back thinking. Demonstrates urgency to deliver and add customer value. Builds scalable technologies that are operationally thrifty. Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect.

Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Manages activities of two or more sections or departments.

Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. In some instances this manager may have subordinate supervisors. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

Requires the ability to influence beyond authority and builds agency.

8+ years of experience with at least 2 years of management responsibility.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

A degree in Computer Science or related technology discipline

8+ years of professional experience including 3+ years of technical leadership.

2+ years of people management experience building strong teams. A passion for people management and mentorship.

Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure (including AWS services and tools, C#, Java, Python, Golang, messaging protocols, and web services) and build processes.

Exceptional ability to deliver by working through others

Demonstrated experience in building, delivering and operating products and services in a customer-centric space.

Strong verbal/written communication and inter-personal skills

Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?


Experience building high volume, scalable, Event Driven, fail safe service based architecture with clear service boundaries and measurable performance indicators.

Ability to code and build tools

Fully understand inter dependencies and arrive at the best solution leveraging existing solutions.

Demonstrable ability to develop software, write and test code via modern programming languages and deploy cloud-native solutions. This assumes principal software engineer/developer or sr. software engineer/developer competency

Ability to present and defend technical proposals in front of audiences of varying size

Empathy for customers, healthcare complexity, and drive with customer delight as the north star.

Expert in architecture design principles and system integration methodologies for geographically dispersed systems operating at scale
