About the role:
The Revenue Cycle Operations  team is a highly collaborative team that manages the end to end patient billing processes and patient billing experience. The Patient Billing Advocate  is accountable for Foodsmart patient billing processes and resolving billing and claims issues. This role centers around leveraging medical billing and claims knowledge  to deliver excellence in service to our patients, practitioners and health plan partners to resolve billing and claims inquiries. Additionally this role is integral in positioning Foodsmart to maximize accuracy, efficiency and promptness of the revenue cycle processes.  Foodsmart is looking for a team member to join the Revenue Cycle Operations team who can bring a proactive and empathetic approach to developing and improving meaningful customer relationships.


You will:
Own the end to end customer billing processes and experience to manage all customer billing communications
Follow up on patient billing inquiries, communicate directly with patients and/or practitioners  to resolve billing matters
Research, analyze, and review submitted claim errors and rejections and make applicable corrections
Prepare claims and billing reports and support month end closing processes
Collaborate with clinical practitioners and health plan leads to resolve patient billing and outstanding claims statuses

You have:
Has 3-5 years of experience in patient billing and/or medical billing and claims submission
Proficiency with Google suite, including Google sheets and slides
Previous experience working with Athena EMR and billing system
Excellent customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Base Salary Range: $50,000/yr to $65,000/yr + equity + benefits

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
